Deputy Clerk to the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors
2001 – Present
After an illustrious career in Florida as an Administrative professional where she has worked with corporate executives, business leaders, military commanders, and a private foundation, in 1991 Renée Culbertson relocated to Virginia to become the Senior Legal Assistant for the Fauquier County Commonwealth’s Attorney.  Ten years later Renée transitioned into her current career as a Municipal Clerk for the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors.
As Deputy Municipal Clerk to the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors Renée provides assistance to the Board members and maintains and preserves all required legislation in accordance with state and county codes.   She is self-motivated with extensive experience overseeing municipal government office operations. Renée is focused on promoting citizen engagement and strong community relations. She is skilled in process improvement, budgeting, and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Renée has a strong civic commitment and has volunteered to serve in a wide variety of areas of the community for organizations such as Jaycees, Executive Business Women International, and Fauquier Community Child Care.  She serves as an Officer of Elections for the Central Absentee Precinct, and currently sits on Executive Board of the Virginia Municipal Clerks Association (VMCA), a statewide organization that is dedicated to professional development of Municipal Clerks through education and networking opportunities.  As an alumnus of the 2016 inaugural class of Leadership Fauquier, she serves on its Program Committee.
Renée and her husband Kevin enjoy a blended family of four adult children and their spouses, and six amazing grandchildren.  She is an active member of Soul Purpose Community Church in Morrisville, Virginia. In her free time, Renée enjoys music, reading, travel, cooking and spending time in her garden.
